KAWS x Travis Scott - 2020
KAWS and Travis Scott’s collaborations chart a visual journey through three distinct moments—The Scotts single with Kid Cudi in 2020, the 2021 Fragment/Jordan/CPFM crossover capsule, and the Utopia album rollout in 2023. Each phase merged Scott’s music with KAWS’s signature aesthetic, spanning collectible vinyl, streetwear, and immersive branding.
The Scotts Single (2020)
Released in April 2020, The Scotts debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. KAWS’s artwork for the single featured inflated, fuzzy lettering with his trademark “XX” eyes, transforming the title into a sculptural logo. The design appeared across limited-edition colored vinyl, picture discs, and cassette tapes in multiple high-demand colorways. Fragment/Jordan/CPFM Capsule (2021)
In July 2021, Travis Scott launched a highly anticipated capsule alongside Fragment Design and Jordan Brand, with Cactus Plant Flea Market contributing additional graphics. KAWS’s role came through bold illustrations that appeared on tees, hoodies, and accessories, blending his pop-art sensibility with the capsule’s mix of sneaker culture and high fashion.
