KAWS x Andy Warhol x Uniqlo- 2024

In 2024, The Andy Warhol Museum opened KAWS + Warhol, the first exhibition to directly pair the two artists’ works, and UNIQLO stepped in as presenting sponsor for the full global tour. The tie-in extended to a UNIQLO UT capsule and art book that brought the show’s ideas to a broader audience.

The Exhibition (2024–2025)
On view in Pittsburgh from May 18, 2024 to January 20, 2025, the show framed both artists’ bright pop language against darker undercurrents, from skulls to crash imagery, making those themes explicit by placing the works side by side. It also marked the museum’s 30th anniversary and set the stage for an international tour. (1, 2)

UNIQLO UT Tie-In (2024)
To celebrate the exhibition, UNIQLO released a KAWS + Warhol UT collection featuring tees, sweatshirts, and outerwear, plus a companion art book produced with The Andy Warhol Foundation. The drop launched in late August 2024 and was positioned as the retail extension of the museum collaboration. (3, 4)

Why It Matters
This is a clean bridge between museum programming and everyday culture, pairing a scholarly exhibition with a mass-reach capsule so the story travels beyond the gallery. With UNIQLO underwriting the tour, the project was built to live globally, including a planned Tokyo stop in 2026.
