The image of a Companion striding forward while carrying two smaller figures began as a twenty-one-foot bronze at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The museum unveiled the sculpture to the public on December 9, 2018, anchoring the character in an institutional setting and framing the pose as part of KAWS’s ongoing dialogue between public sculpture and collectible form
To mark that unveiling, The Modern released the vinyl CLEAN SLATE the same day, both in-store and online at 10 a.m. CST, priced at $480 and offered in grey, brown, and black. A second release followed on KAWSONE on December 12 at 12 p.m. EST at the same $480 price, with listings and product notes placing the figure at about 14 inches tall.
