For its eleventh global stop, KAWS premiered an inflatable Companion sculpture on Shanghai’s North Bund by the Huangpu River during the Mid‑Autumn Festival. Standing 42 meters tall and paired with a luminous moon, the public piece reframed the traditional festival lantern as a moment of quiet wonder. The small vinyl figure mirrors that scene, showing Companion at rest with the celestial orb nestled on its chest, reflecting city lights and sky.

The 9.5‑inch vinyl figure was released on August 28, 2024 through DDT Store and KAWSONE in brown, grey, and black colorways. It features a fluorescent moon component and an NFC chip for authenticity. Priced at $320, the collectible arrived in a special box with fluorescent print to echo the glow‑in‑the‑dark moon.
