KAWS’s BFF plush line began with the Blue edition in Bangkok on June 30, 2016, released alongside the 8-meter BFF installation at Central Embassy. The plush was sold in an edition of 1,000 through SIWILAI and online via Ding Dong Takuhaibin (DDT), boxed and tagged as an AllRightsReserved release. Later that year, the Black BFF plush launched with KAWS: WHERE THE END STARTS at The Modern in Fort Worth (October 2016), in an edition of 3,000; that run carried a $200 retail and subsequently hit KAWSONE in a follow-up drop.

On April 9, 2019, KAWS returned with the Pink BFF plush on KAWSONE, also in an edition of 3,000 at $200. In terms of sizing, all three colors were produced at ~20 inches. All three also arrived boxed with embroidered foot details and remain core entries in the BFF collector timeline, each tied to a distinct rollout: a major public installation (Blue), a US museum exhibition (Black), and a global online drop (Pink).
