KAWS x Sneeze Magazine - 2010, 2012, and 2016

KAWS has contributed to Sneeze Magazine multiple times—spanning a feature in issue 8 (2010), the 2012 poster insert, and finally fronting issue 29 in Fall 2016 with a bold “XX” cover and collector’s bonus. Each involvement shows his long-standing connection to print culture, often delivering exclusive visuals and physical extras for fans.

2010 Issue 8 Feature

In 2010, Sneeze featured an early KAWS spread in issue 8, including two cut-out posters and a short interview that revealed his then-upcoming Paris solo show. The playful layout blended street-art energy with print curation, giving readers more than text—it was a tactile art moment. (1)

2012 Poster Collaboration

In 2012, Sneeze Magazine teamed with KAWS again—this time for a dedicated poster that accompanied the issue. Though distribution was limited, the insert quickly became a sought-after piece for collectors, representing KAWS’s mid-era print work. (2)

2016 “Get Met It Pays” Issue (Issue 29)

The most visible collaboration came in Fall 2016 with Sneeze issue 29, titled “Get Met It Pays.” KAWS designed the cover around his signature “XX” motif. Inside, readers found an intro by West Rubinstein, an interview with Allen Benedikt, and a 32" × 22" poster featuring KAWS’s then-upcoming Fort Worth retrospective—all adding layers of value beyond the page. Why It Matters

Over six years, KAWS’s recurring presence in Sneeze shows how subculture artists used indie print as a platform for both expression and collectible distribution. With posters, interviews, and art-forward features, these issues became artifacts of his evolving career—as much art issues as magazine issues.
