Companion Blush / Flayed - Open Edition - 2017
Released during KAWS’s 2017 exhibition at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai, the Blush Companion and Blush Flayed brought a bold red-and-pink palette to the classic and dissected 11-inch vinyl figures. Though sold as open editions, both quickly sold out and remain standout pieces in the Companion lineup for their striking colorway and sculptural presence.

Companion Blush takes the classic stance and washes it in saturated pinks and reds, a simple color flip that changes the whole temperature of the piece. Arms at the sides, head slightly bowed, it reads as calm and grounded, but louder in spirit, like a familiar hook played through a fresh set of speakers.
The rollout matched the moment. It debuted in Shanghai at Yuz Museum during Where the End Starts, limited to on-site buyers first, then opened up to a worldwide drop on KAWSONE at noon EST on June 2, 2017. Retail was $200, packaging was the straightforward clear blister you know from the line, and it arrived alongside a matching Flayed Blush to complete the set. KAWS brought it back on February 14, 2019 for a timed re-release, a quick reminder that this colorway sits at the center of his open-edition story.
