HASHEEM - Santa Inoue - 2007
“Hasheem” is a collaborative vinyl figure created by KAWS and Tokyo Tribe manga artist Santa Inoue, blending streetwear grit with KAWS’s signature visual language and originally released in 2007 for $90
Retail Price: $90
Edition Size: 500
Released in 2007, the Hasheem figure came out of a unique collaboration between KAWS and Santa Inoue, best known for his manga series Tokyo Tribe. The figure stands roughly 12 inches tall and channels the style of Inoue’s gritty, urban characters, but with the unmistakable influence of KAWS. Hasheem features crossed-out eyes, gloved hands, and a chunky stance that mirrors the visual weight of other KAWS figures, while wearing detailed street-style clothing reminiscent of Inoue’s characters. It was produced by Medicom Toy and sold primarily in Japan through select specialty shops.
Retailing at $90, Hasheem was released in very limited numbers with an estimated edition size of around 500 units total, making it one of the rarer KAWS figures of the 2000s. Despite not being part of KAWS’s core character lineup, it holds a unique place in his catalog for merging manga storytelling with designer toy culture. Today it’s a sought-after collector piece, rarely seen on resale platforms and typically commanding high secondary prices when it does appear.
