Retail Price: $320 USD
Edition Size: Limited Run
KAWS: Holiday Hangzhou is the first new “skin” we’ve seen on a Companion in some time. Featuring robotic elements including a helmet, visor, actuating arms, halos on the ears, chest power pack and tactile gloves, this release came in two variants: Bright Gloss Yellow and Matte Black.
While the matte black is a common release style for KAWS, the bright Glossy Yellow is a fresh take we’ve not seen on a Companion yet. This release gives off the essence of both the KAWS: Star Wars collabs from 2007, as well as the KAWS: Holiday Space releases that came out a few years prior in 2020.
The 10” figure released exclusively on DDT Store, as well as at the WESTLAKE 66 pop-up store in Hangzhou during the live installation which featured a 30’ meter version of this character lying down, reminiscent of the Holiday: Japan pose. The vinyl figures cost $320 USD.
In addition to the two vinyl figures, KAWS and DDT also released a Bronze Incense Holder, a Tea Set, Mugs, two hoodies and two t-shirts to commemorate the installation of Holiday and accompany the product drop. The collection sold out in about an hour once it was released.
